The First Panel
Today was the start of installing all of the panels for the 40x120 foot building for the Union Fairgrounds in Union, Maine. This was a Saturday so it was all volunteer community members and no students ( for some reason). I got there just in time to watch the first panel go into place. It was cold and windy with a fifty percent chance of rain. As the morning wore on, more helped arrived, more panels went up and the rains held off. There was plenty of hot coffee and willing hands.

Done!
After 13 days of school/ work, 200 plus wall studs, 2,300 plus feet of wall strapping, over 150 pounds of nails, 2,880 feet of 1x12 pine boards with batten strips, and 320 feet of walls built, the 40x120 foot building is finished. I am very proud of my students for the hard work that went into this project. We all look forward to going to the Union Fairgrounds and watching the trusses being installed. I will keep you posted on the progress of the building.
